Leaving Twin Falls we followed Route 26 to Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve. Wow! What an amazing place. We had researched this location, but nothing could have prepared us for this amazing landscape.

Craters of the Moon is a vast ocean of lava flows with scattered islands of cinder cones and sagebrush, and covers an area of 1,601 square kilometres.

This is definitely a location to place on your bucket list!

Following The Idaho Byway we visited Pickle Place in Arco for lunch.

Arco was the first town in the world to be lit by atomic power from a reactor, and was the  site of world’s first fatal atomic accident occurred on January 3, 1961.

Pickle Place is a little bit quirky, just what we like, we had a bit of fun here with the camera, and the meal was pretty good also, they had great pickles that I just LOVE……

Cheers Mel & Chris
