We departed Carmel, again in the cool weather, we followed the road north along the sand dunes for a while then headed East.

We followed the highway for aways through lush agricultural land till the GPS ” Missy ” thought we need to travel the backroads, so that is exactly what we did!

About four hours later we arrived at the South entrance to Yosemite National Park  and then visited  Mariposa Grove. Mariposa Grove one of those very magic places in the world, here there are Sequoia trees that are 1800 years old, they are majestic.  In the past they cut holes through the middle of these trees that cars could drive through. The Grove was very crowded with visitors, as was the whole of Yosemite.

One of the things on our bucket list was to visit the same sites that we had in February 2013, at that time of year Yosemite was covered in a blanket of snow.

We spent the night at The Yosemite View Inn, our room was by the creek and we slept to the sound of  the burbling creek

We exited the park through the west entrance, we passed over Tioga  Pass which was 10,000 feet in elevation. What an amazing road and views, we were in awe of the sheer beauty and grandeur.
